Kindergarten Round Up

Attention parents who have young children and are wondering how to get started homeschooling and want to know more about our kindergarten program!

Join us for an informational meeting with our wonderful kindergarten teacher, Julie Thenn.

Julie teaches Kindergarten, Art, and Social Studies classes at Homeschool Connections. She has been married to Ron for 20 years and they have three children who are in their 4th year of homeschooling. Julie is also a military spouse who has lived in nine different states in the past 20 years. She coaches two soccer teams and has taught Sunday School for many years. She is an avid runner and was a youth coach for Girls on the Run. She also worked as a part-time teacher in Hawaii Public Schools. Julie loves teaching and helping children achieve their goals.

Julie will be speaking about how to navigate homeschooling for your kindergarten student and will share some practical ways to support the key learning objectives in their curriculum. She will cover English and Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and the Arts as well as cognitive and social activities that can prepare the students for first grade and beyond. She will share different methods for teaching students with various learning styles and preferences and will discuss how to make learning fun and engaging for both the students and the parents.
